Several die after Assad's forces use 'poisonous gases' - NBC breaking news headline, sickening reality; & or the spark to a Middle East intervention of apocalyptic proportions?

After we all survived the 2012 no-pocalypse, with many second-guessing by which cosmic means we would meet our collective end, we can start to turn our attention to events back on earth somewhat. What is your perception of the breaking news headline Syria activists: Several die after Assad's forces use 'poisonous gases' ?

Is this the start of a propaganda mission to facilitate western military intervention? Or a sickening escalation of the de-humanizing of the world public, which we can no longer turn our attention from? Can we continue to fail our fellow human souls in Syria?

What is the humanist thing to do? Military intervention to stop the hell-ish carnage and risk much wider misery of a war in the Middle East and possibly beyond?

We are one humanity, people need our collective opinion now to help sway action in the right direction, but which way is the right way forward? Please, your input is needed.
