A plan to build a 6,000km-long wall across the Sahara Desert to stop the spread of the desert has been outlined. Full Story: BBC
From a Global Consciousness Perspective:
This story shows how human thought, for better or worse, has become an entwined part of our planets environmental processes. We have already contributed to the heating and desertification of the earth, now we feel duty-bound to try to fix it.
We actively take the role of Earth’s conscience and discuss what should be done to repair the damage we are all responsible for. What do you think?:
- Should we allow 'Dune Architects' to introduce a bacterium that solidifies the sands?
- Or, should we rely on tree planting alone?
- What consequences will introducing a bacteria have on the proposed trees and surrounding eco-systems?
- Doesn’t bacteria have the capacity to evolve?
So we might think we understand the current consequences; what about future consequences?
It seems there is always some unforeseen consequence when we interfere with nature. Do we know enough about our own home planet to safely with its processes?
Global-consciousness is the power we all posses when we debate this on a global scale and let others know our conclusions. Discuss it now by adding this story to Twitter and Facebook. Your thoughts and opinions are essential in this debate.
