Amazon has urged a New York court to reject a deal that would allow Google to build a vast digital library. The online retailer says that if Google is given exclusive rights to scan books for use on the Internet, it is "likely to lead to a monopoly" (Full Story). From a Global Consciousness Perspective:
Nothing could contribute more to the foundation of a Global Sub-conscious than a free on-line catalogue of all books ever written. Barring the impossibility of all people being able to verify each fact individually with individual experiment and experience, the on-line catalogue of all books would serve to expedite the collective identity of our humanity.
Knowledge is free when we investigate it ourselves. We are still being charged money for other peoples findings. Monetizing knowledge has meant only those who can afford knowledge are able to retrieve it.
Free and global knowledge will contribute to the mapping of the human collective experience, understanding and consciousness.
